REMINDER | Spring Membership Meeting Thurs, 5/23 7pm

As shared in our Spring Newsletter, our Spring Membership Meeting will take place on Thursday, May 23rd at 7pm via Zoom. As you likely remember, over the past several years, we have been hosting the Spring Meeting via Zoom and the Fall Meeting in person based on preferences of the community as shared both in prior meetings and anecdotally with Trustees; many appreciate having the virtual option which is easier to plan around while many others prefer to be in person. If you recall, we tried a hybrid meeting option in the Fall 2021 and unfortunately without A/V equipment or hiring a third party to help, we are unable to provide a good experience for all.
Over the past week or so, a few members have reached out to the Club individually asking that we reconsider hosting the Spring Meeting via Zoom and move it to an in person format as well. After consideration and deliberation, the Trustees decided that it would be unfair to change the meeting date, time or format given the meeting was announced on February 20th and the meeting is just a few weeks away. Attendance at the Zoom virtual meetings is generally higher than the in person formats and feedback has been generally positive; that said, we are happy to reconsider future meeting formats with your input.
More information on the Spring Meeting is forthcoming including the agenda, Zoom link and draft meeting minutes (please note that minutes drafted are not officially deemed "meeting minutes" until members approve them at each subsequent meeting). We expect that many of you are interested in hearing more about the ongoing litigation so we would recommend that you review the email sent by the Trustees on April 19th which includes the most recent update. As was done at the Fall meeting, we are happy to answer any questions you have to the extent we are able. We are limited to what can be shared given the case is ongoing and under the advice of Club counsel.Club Reminders
• Annual Dues Payments in the amount of $700 were due on 5/1/2024. Invoices and reminders were sent to your email address on file. Thanks to the members who paid their dues in timely manner! For the few members with an outstanding balance, invoices with late fees assessed will be forthcoming. As a reminder, those with outstanding balances are not eligible to receive their beach badges until the full balance is cleared.
• Owner’s badges may be picked up on Saturday, June 8th from 10am-2pm at #236 Bay Beach Way. For anyone unable to pick them up on June 8th, badges will be available at the Badge Booth starting Saturday, June 15th when beach officially opens.
• As a reminder, no construction work is allowed between June 15, 2024, and September 15, 2024. Also, all boats, jet skis, trailers etc. must be removed from OBSC1 properties by June 15, 2024. Craft and trailers may be returned to properties on September 15, 2024.
FYI - Toms River Owners Only
If you live in the Toms River section of our community, you were recently notified by TR Dept. of Public Works (via paper notices placed at each home) that garbage collection would be handled by robocan collection trucks. Each home was recently provided with one robo trash can and one robo recycling can - most likely delivered to your driveway. For your convenience, attached is a scan of the paper form provided with the cans. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact TR Dept. of Public Works at 732.255.1000 ext 8188.
